Back to School Supplies & Clothing Donations Needed for Underprivileged Children

According to the National Retail Federation, the average family spends almost $700 on children’s clothing, electronics, and back to school supplies each year. Back to school time can be a burden on many low income families- especially to those who have to provide clothing for more than one child. Wouldn’t it be great if back to school shopping was easy and cheap? Of course it would.

The recent budget cuts in education tends to take a big toll in the classroom, not only are there more students cramming into already crowded classes, there are fewer supplies to go around.

4th Annual Food, Clothing, & Toy Drive looks to Feed Four Hundred Families

Everyday Life can have its way of blindsiding us with the latest uploads on Instagram, Facebook live notifications, and snapchat stories about the VMA’s red carpet slayage, and the never-ending antics of the Kardashians on TMZ.  Meanwhile we give little or no attention to the less fortunate children and families in our communities that suffer from hunger and abuse.

The Divine Intervention & Prevention Foundation aka (D.I.P.) a non-profit organization whose core objective is to educate and empower families to live healthy, holistic lives without the use of violence as a recourse to solve relationship, personal, and financial plights.

D.I.P. Foundatin 3rd Annual Heal A Heart Food, Clothing, Toy Giveaway

Jacksonville, FL- with the holiday season just around the corner, D.I.P. is accepting donations for its 3rd Annual Heal A Heart Food, Clothing, & Toy drive sponsored by Shofar Magazine & various local community organizations. For many of the children & families D.I.P. serves, the holidays are difficult. Some children maybe separated from their parents, others from their siblings. At least 90% come from families living below federal poverty level. All have experienced significant trauma that taints the warm holiday season.

“Santa Photos to raise funds for charity & “Pic a Fit against violence”

The pressures of celebrating the holidays sometimes causes tempers to flare, energy levels to soar and arguments to ensue, culminating in an explosion of domestic violence and abuse. Parties, celebrations and festivities are everywhere and the temptation for excess can be intoxicating. Alcohol, drugs, heightened emotions and the wrong combination of family members, are very often contributing factors in violent holiday explosions. In fact, the holiday season can be an exceptionally tough emotional period for many domestic violence victims, even children.

Free Food, Clothing, & Cell Phone issuance kicks off Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign “Healing Hearts”

he community & various corporate sponsors supported the D.I.P. Foundation efforts to provide clothing, food, hygiene, and toiletries for distribution to local needy families including the elderly, disabled, children and teens. Since purchasing daily living necessities can be a burden for many that are lacking in financial resources, it is not surprising that the items provided by the D.I.P. Foundation by way of its supporters are often the only resources many low-income residents will receive this season.
